Distance Learning Productivity Tips

If you're at a school that is still distance learning, or if you're a homeschooler, here are some tips to stay on track. If I'm being completely honest, I'll likely be working from home soon, so these are good tips for me too :)

  • Have a routine.
    • Get dressed: getting out of your pajamas sets you up for work-mode instead of sleep-mode.
    • Eat a healthy snacks and meals
    • Drink water! You may think coffee is the way to go, but try switching to H2O for a few days and see if your body and mind feel a difference.
  • Create a work environment.
    • Limit distractions: find a place that's out of view of the television, put your phone somewhere out of reach. Speaking of phones...
    • Take a break from social media: I like to use the "Pomodoro technique". It's almost like a little reward system for my brain.
    • Don't do work in the bedroom, find somewhere dedicated to focusing.
  • Plan your meals in advance: One less thing you'll have to think about later!
  • Incorporate movement into your day: sitting on your butt for an extended period of time is a surefire way to decrease your energy. Get out of your seat and go for a short walk, or turn on some music and dance around for a few minutes. Even if all you do is stand up and stretch a little, it's better than nothing! You'll find that your brain is jolted awake and you're ready to take on new tasks with more zest!

This is by no means an exhaustive list of things to do for your productivity, but these are things that I've tried and have worked for me. I'd love to know what strategies work for you in your home, or even in the office! Let me know, leave a comment!
